A mention of the possibility of the former talk-show host and star of "Taxi" playing the corrupt impresario first appeared in The New York Post.

The Brooklyn-born Danza, who is also a singer who has appeared in cabaret gigs around the country, appeared in Broadway's recent The Iceman Cometh and was a replacement as the brooding, angry patriarch of 1997's A View From the Bridge.
