As previously reported, David Cromer (Our Town, The House of Blue Leaves) will direct the Tennessee Williams classic that will officially open June 23 on the Nikos Stage for a run through July 3.
Cromer also reveals that audiences will have a more intimate experience with Streetcar. "One of our responsibilities is to present our audiences with fresh perspectives, fresh points of view on a play. In this case, literally changing the audience’s angle on the action in the Nikos hopefully refreshes the experience. Everyone is now that much closer to the play," he said in a statement.
Cromer previously staged Streetcar at the Writers’ Theater in Glencoe, IL, during the 2009-2010 season.
The complete cast includes Hecht (A View From the Bridge) as Blanche DuBois, Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane) as Stanley Kowalski, Reeder ("Damages") as Stella Kowalski, Michael Bradley Cohen as Young Collector, Esteben Andres Cruz (Jesus Hopped the A Train) as Pablo, Jennifer Engstrom as Eunice, Vella Lovell as Mexican Woman, Crystal Lucas-Perry as Negro Woman, Emily Simoness as Nurse, Daniel Stewart Sherman (Desire Under the Elms) as Mitch, Lou Sumrall (Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune) as Steve, and Kirby Ward (Never Gonna Dance) as Doctor.
The Streetcar creative team includes Collette Pollard (set design), Janice Paytel (costume design), Heather Gilbert (lighting design), Josh Schmidt (sound design/composer) and Thom Schall (fight direction).
