John Tillinger directs the production, which premiered at the Westport Country Playhouse in May. Children will play a limited run through July 12 on the mainstage of the Massachusetts summer theatre festival. In addition to Finneran (Noises Off, Mauritius) and Light (Wit, "Ugly Betty"), the cast also features Mary Bacon (Rock 'n' Roll) and James Waterston (Buffalo Gal).

"In Children," press notes read, "an estranged brother's return to the family summer home off the coast of Massachusetts and a mother's impending marriage recall painful memories of a father's death, causing love affairs to crumble and family secrets to explode."

Children has a creative team including set designer James Noone, costume designer Jane Greenwood, lighting designer Rui Rita and sound designer Scott Killian.

A.R. Gurney is the author of Love Letters, The Dining Room, Sylvia, The Cocktail Hour, Indian Blood and Crazy Mary. His plays have earned him Lucille Lortel, Drama Desk and Rockefeller awards.
