News Wilner Is New Golde in Broadway's Fiddler on the Roof Tony Award winner Andrea Martin played her final performance in the Broadway company of Fiddler on the Roof July 31. Beginning Aug. 2, her standby, Lori Wilner, will assume the role of Golde.

A spokesperson for the production confirmed that Wilner will play Golde opposite Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein's Tevye until further notice.

Wilner has been seen on Broadway in The Diary of Anne Frank and Those Were the Days. She received a Drama Desk nomination for her performance in Hannah Senesh, a work she co-created. Wilner's other Off-Broadway credits include Everett Beekin, The Yiddish Trojan Women, Bubbe Meises, Hannah 1939, The Witch and Milk and Honey.

This new production of the Joseph Stein-Jerome Bock Sheldon Harnick musical opened Feb. 26, 2004, and is produced by James L. Nederlander, Stewart F. Lane/Bonnie Comley, Harbor Entertainment, Terry Allen Kramer, Bob Boyett/Lawrence Horowitz and Clear Channel Entertainment.
