Culver City's singular productions will present the 30th Anniversary-since premiering production of The Rimers of Eldritch by Lanford Wilson, opening at the Ivy Substation exactly 30 years after the July 13 Off-Broadway opening in 1996, running through August 30.
The tiny, decaying, midwestern town of Eldritch is absorbed in the trial of a murderer, which humorously exposes the gossipy behaviors and attitudes of the morally elite townspeople.
singular productions, Culver City's resident professional theatre, strives to produce cutting edge shows that have never been done in LA, or that have not been produced there in quite a while. Studies show the last LA production of Rimers was over 17 years ago.
Following Rimers, singular productions closes its season with Tony Kushner's A Bright Room Called Day, runing Oct. 26 through Dec. 14. Rimers runs Thu-Sat 8pm. Tickets are $18. For tickets or more information, call (310) 558-1555.
