Film & TV News Winner of So You Think You Can Dance Will Be Part of Fox’s Rent The live broadcast of the Jonathan Larson musical is set for January 27, 2019.

Cat Deeley announced on the August 6 broadcast of So You Think You Can Dance that the winner of the competition will be part of the cast of Fox’s upcoming live broadcast of the Tony-winning musical Rent.

What role the winner will play has yet to be revealed. The Jonathan Larson musical, as previously reported, is set to make its live TV debut January 27, 2019.

The 15th season of So You Think You Can Dance returns August 13 at 8 PM ET when the top ten will perform live; two contestants will be sent home following the performances.

The 1996 rock musical Rent, loosely inspired by Puccini's La Bohème, launched the careers of several stage and screen favorites, including Idina Menzel, Anthony Rapp, Adam Pascal, Taye Diggs, Jesse L. Martin, and Daphne Rubin-Vega.
