News Winners of the 2009 Critics' Choice Awards Announced Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep and Sean Penn are among the winners of the 2009 Critics' Choice Awards, which were presented live on VH1 Jan. 8.

Held at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, the 14th annual Critics' Choice Awards named "Slumdog Millionaire" Best Picture. Sean Penn was named Best Actor for "Milk," and there was a tie for Best Actress: Anne Hathaway in "Rachel Getting Married" and Meryl Streep for "Doubt."

Heath Ledger earned a posthumous honor for Best Supporting Actor in "The Dark Knight," and Kate Winslet was awarded Best Supporting Actress for "The Reader," featuring a screenplay by David Hare.

Best Acting Ensemble was presented to the cast of "Milk." "Slumdog Millionaire" took Best Director (Danny Boyle), Best Writer (Simon Beaufoy), Best Young Actor for Dev Patel and Best Composer for A.R. Rahman.

HBO's thespian-studded "John Adams" earned Best Picture Made for Television, Pixar's "Wall-E" was named Best Animated Feature, "Man On Wire" was named Best Documentary Feature, "The Dark Knight" was named Best Action Movie, "Tropic Thunder" was named Best Comedy Movie, and "Waltz With Bashir" earned Best Foreign Language Film.

Bruce Springsteen's "The Wrestler" was awarded Best Song for the film of the same name that stars Mickey Rourke. For a complete list of nominees, visit www.bfca.org.
