News Witchy Business: Wicked's Shelley Joins Chenoweth on "Bewitched" Film Current Wicked star Carole Shelley reunites with her musical co-star Kristin Chenoweth in the upcoming film version of the television series "Bewitched" starring Nicole Kidman and Will Ferrell.

The actress completed two weeks of filming on the Nora Ephron-directed movie in the role of Aunt Clara, confirmed a spokesperson. She replaced fellow Tony Award winner Joan Plowright (A Taste of Honey) who was originally cast in the role.

Delia Ephron, Nora Ephron and Adam McKay pen the screenplay which involves a film-within-a-film twist whereby the actors are portraying fictional actors who are cast in a film remake of the classic TV show.

Kidman (The Blue Room) stars in the lead role of Samantha Stephens that Elizabeth Montgomery made famous opposite Ferrell (the upcoming The Producers movie) who plays her husband Darrin.

The cast also features Shirley MacLaine (The Pajama Game), Michael Caine ("Dirty Rotten Scoundrels"), Jason Schwartzman ("Rushmore"), Heather Burns (Lobby Hero, Writer's Block), Jim Turner, Stephen Colbert ("The Daily Show"), David Alan Grier (A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum), Steve Carell ("Anchorman"), Richard Kind (The Producers) and Amy Sedaris (Wonder of the World).

Shelley — who currently appears in Stephen Schwartz's Wicked as Madame Morrible — made her New York debut in The Odd Couple as has since trod the Broadway boards in Cabaret, Show Boat, The Last Night of Ballyhoo, The Miser, Noises Off, The Norman Conquests, Stepping Out, Absurd Person Singular and The Elephant Man — earning Tony Award nominations for the latter three and winning for The Elephant Man.
