Wisconsin’s Peninsula Players continue their 66th season with Agatha Christie’s courtroom thriller Witness for the Prosecution. The play runs July 12-30. In it, a young murder suspect depends upon his wife’s testimony for his acquittal of the murder of rich elderly woman who has named him the heir to her fortune.

The show is directed by Greg Vinkler. Other production staff includes Sarah Eckert (scenic design), Joel Mortiz (lighting design), and Jana Stauffer (costume design). The play premiered in New York on December 16, 1954 at the Henry Miller Theatre.

The play marks the second show of the Peninsula Players’ season. The troupe opened with Over the River and Through the Woods. Following Witness is See How They Run by Philip King, Far Eastby A.R. Gurney, and the Tony Award-winning comedy Art by Yasmina Reza.

The Peninsula Players Theatre in an open air stage located on the Door County peninsula between the resort towns of Egg Harbor and Fish Creek. The folksy theatre, comprised of wooden beams, stones walls and canvas walls, sits only a hundred feet from the shore of Green Bay.
