A woman was injured at the Saturday evening performance of Broadway's The Front Page when a flying piece of stage debris struck her in the face.

The incident occurred October 29 at the Broadhurst Theatre, when the all-star revival is playing.

During a scene in which actor John Slattery breaks a walking cane over his knee, a shard of the cane flew into the audience and struck an unidentified woman in the face, according to a Playbill.com staffer, who was an eyewitness. According to the staffer, it appeared the woman was bleeding but other eye witnesses disagree.

The woman returned to her seat after a break. Slattery appeared at curtain call and apologized to her.
