News Woman in White to Offer Special Performances for Visually Impaired The new Andrew Lloyd Webber musical The Woman in White — now playing London's Palace Theatre — will offer two special performances Oct. 13 (matinee) and Oct. 14 (evening).

Audio descriptions will be available to blind and visually impaired theatregoers during the two special performances. According to a release, "A live running description of the characters, their expressions, actions, costumes and the sets is relayed to patrons over personal headsets. This happens unobtrusively between the lines and offers patrons who cannot see the stage assistance in sharing the visual aspects of the performance." The Woman in White — starring Michael Crawford and Maria Friedman — began previews Aug. 28. Adapted from Wilkie Collins' novel, the musical by Lloyd Webber and David Zippel officially opened Sept. 15. Trevor Nunn directs.
