News "Wonder Years" Actor Lauria Appears in July 20 Reading of Johnny Dan Lauria, famous as the grumpy dad on television's "The Wonder Years," will play a very different sort of father in a July 20 reading of the new play Johnny on the Pony at The Triad Theatre Off-Broadway.

Richard Vetere's play concerns a deranged dad from Queens. How deranged? Well, he's insisting on fathering a child by his son's new bride. Charles Messina will direct the work. Also in the cast are Gina Ferranti, Jerry Della Salla and Michael Tenaglia.

Vetere is perhaps best known for the play One Shot, One Kill. Lauria just finished a run in the Off-Broadway play Ears on a Beatle.
