News Woody Allen's Writer's Block, with Neuwirth and Reiser, Opens Off-Broadway May 15 Writer’s Block, the world premiere of Academy Award winner Woody Allen’s two new one-act comedies, will open Off-Broadway on May 15. Performances began April 23.

The production for the Atlantic Theater Company also marks Allen’s theatrical directorial debut. The evening is comprised of the one-acts “Riverside Drive,” which takes place on New York City’s Riverside Drive; and “Old Saybrook,” which is set in a house in Connecticut.

The star-studded cast features Kate (The Syringa Tree) Blumberg, Heather (Lobby Hero) Burns, Clea (“Ellen”) Lewis, Bebe (“Cheers,” Chicago) Neuwirth, Richard (“The Sopranos”) Portnow, Paul (“Mad About You”) Reiser, Grant (“Murphy Brown”) Shaud, Skipp (“Third Watch”) Sudduth, Jay (“Murphy Brown”) Thomas and The Crucible’s Christopher Evan Welch. The creative team includes Santo Loquasto (scenic design), James F. Ingalls (lighting design), Scott Myers (sound design) and Laura Bauer (costume design).

Writer’s Block will play Tuesday-Sunday evenings at 8 PM with matinees on Saturdays at 2 PM and Sundays at 3 PM. The opening-night performance on May 15 will have a 7:30 PM curtain. Tickets are priced at $50 and are available by calling (212) 239-6200.
