Tom Wopat's summer will be on 42nd Street starting June 21, playing the gruff and demonstrative Broadway director Julian Marsh in the Tony Award-winning revised revival of the backstage musical.

Wopat, a Tony nominee for Annie Get Your Gun, and a Broadway veteran of Guys and Dolls and City of Angels, is widely known for his run in the TV series, "The Dukes of Hazzard."

42nd Street, a 2001 Tony Award winner for Best Musical (Revival), also stars Beth Leavel as Dorothy Brock, Mary Testa as Maggie Jones, Meredith Patterson as Peggy Sawyer, Jonathan Freeman as Bert Barry and David Elder as Billy Lawlor.

Wopat was previously announced to play Frank Butler in a late June engagement of Annie Get Your Gun at the historic Barn Theatre in Augusta, MI. He's traded that rough-hewn venue for the Ford Center for the Performing Arts. His most recent New York gig has been Off-Broadway's 9/11 drama, The Guys.
