Under the direction of Andrea Urise, the production will officially open Oct. 24 and continue through Nov. 9 at the Emerson Studio Theatre of the Loretto-Hilton Center for the Performing Arts.
The cast features Magan Wiles as Evie, Ted Deasy as Clay and Annie Fitzpatrick as Gloria.
Press notes for Evie's Waltz read: "Gloria and Clay are living every parent's worst nightmare. Their teenaged son Danny has been expelled for bringing a gun to school — and possibly plotting a massacre of his fellow students. They strongly suspect his girlfriend Evie may have influenced his erratic and dangerous behavior…While trying to figure out how to deal with their troubled son and planning a backyard dinner to meet with Evie's mother, they receive an unexpected visit from Evie herself. Strong-willed, savvy and unrelenting, Evie calls Danny's parents to account for their own actions and touches off a high-stakes game of cat and mouse."
The Rep commissioned playwright Lewis to pen the topical work, his fourth collaboration with The Rep. Lewis also serves as the playwright-in-residence at Washington University. Evie's Waltz will also be presented in a separate production at San Francisco's Magic Theatre under the direction of Loretta Greco in November
