News World Premiere of John Logan's Peter and Alice Opens in London March 25; Judi Dench and Ben Whishaw Star The world premiere of John Logan's Peter and Alice opens at the West End's Noel Coward Theatre March 25, following previews that began March 9. It is the second production in a five-play residency by the new Michael Grandage Company, and stars Ben Whishaw and Judi Dench in the title roles.

The play revolves around the meeting of Alice Liddell Hargreaves (Dench) and Peter Llewelyn Davies (Whishaw) at the opening of a Lewis Carroll exhibition in 1932, when the original Alice in Wonderland came face to face with the original Peter Pan.

In Logan's new play, this brief encounter lays bare the lives of these two extraordinary characters. Dench, who plays Alice Liddell Hargreaves, previously worked with Grandage on Madame de Sade as part of the Donmar's West End season at Wyndham's Theatre. She has also worked extensively in the theatre for the National and RSC. Whishaw, who plays Peter Llewelyn Davies, has starred Off-Broadway in The Pride (Lucille Lortel Theatre), and in London in the original Royal Court production of Mike Bartlett's Cock that also played in New York.

They are joined by Olly Alexander, Ruby Bentall, Stefano Braschi, Nicholas Farrell and Derek Riddell.

Logan is also about to be represented on Broadway by another new play, I'll Eat You Last: A Chat with Sue Menger, that Bette Midler is starring in at the Booth Theatre from April 5.
