Penny Fuller, George Grizzard, Alexandra Gersten-Vassilaros, Kaitlin Hopkins and Steven Pasquale star in the production, directed by Terry Kinney, which will open at the downtown Manhattan venue Feb. 24.
Silver's new drama centers on a troubled teacher who returns home to his family. A Vineyard veteran, the scribe has seen his previous works Pterodactyls, Maiden's Prayer, Raised In Captivity, The Altruists and Eros Trilogy staged at the Off-Broadway space. The scribe also penned a new book for the recent Broadway revival of Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart's The Boys From Syracuse.
Fuller was Tony Award-nominated for her performance in Neil Simon's The Dinner Party. Grizzard is a Tony Award winner for his turn in A Delicate Balance. Gersten-Vassilaros co-wrote the recent Off-Broadway play Omnium Gatherum with Theresa Rebeck. Hopkins appeared as the matriarch in Off-Broadway's Bat Boy: The Musical. Pasquale was recently seen on the New York stage in A Man of No Importance.
Director Kinney directed the recent revival of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest on Broadway. He was applauded for his Chicago premiere of Richard Greenberg's The Violet Hour. As an actor, he has performed on stage in The Grapes of Wrath and Buried Child as well as on screen in "Oz" and "The Laramie Project."
The design team includes Richard Hoover (set), David Lander (lighting), Michael Krass (costumes) and Obadiah Eaves (sound).
