Directed by Emily Mann, The Bells began previews March 22. The limited engagement, which will play through April 10, stars Ted Marcoux, Marin Ireland, Fiona Gallagher, Paul Butler, Michael McCarty, Christopher Innvar and Pan Bandhu. The Bells, according to production notes, “tracks the intertwined fates of a gregarious innkeeper, Mathias, (Marcoux), his rebellious daughter, Annette, (Ireland), and the misfits of a boomtown gone bust (Gallagher, Butler and McCarty). Hard luck and hunger have brought them together, but then a stranger (Innvar) begins asking questions about the mysterious disappearance of a Chinese prospector, Xuifei (Bandhu).”

Theresa Rebeck’s plays include Omnium Gatherum, The Butterfly Collection, View of the Dome, The Family of Mann, Loose Knit, Spike Heels and Bad Dates. She was also a writer and producer of “NYPD Blues” and “Law & Order: Criminal Intent.”

The McCarter Theatre is located at 91 University Place in Princeton, NJ. Tickets, priced $33-$48, are available by calling (609) 258-2787 or by visiting www.mccarter.org.
