News World Premiere of Vogel's The Long Christmas Ride Home Plays RI, May 16-June 29 Trinity Repertory Theatre present the world premiere of Paula Vogel's The Long Christmas Ride Home, May 16-June 29. Artistic director Oskar Eustis directs the work at the Dowling Theatre in Providence, Rhode Island.

Following up her Pulitzer Prize-winning play, How I Learned to Drive, Vogel's The Long Christmas Ride Home is about a family whose car spins out of control on an icy road following a Christmas dinner gone awry. Each child steps out of the scene to tell their story "as the family's fate literally hangs in the balance," a release states.

Vogel's other works include The Baltimore Waltz, Desdemona and The Mineola Twins.

The cast of The Long Christmas Ride Home features Angela Brazil, Timothy Crowe, Anne Scurria, Stephen Thorne, Rachael Warren and Contact's Sean Martin Hingston. The production also features Samisen player Sumie Kaneko and puppets by Basil Twist. Donna Uchizono choreographs.

The design team includes Loy Arcenas (sets), Pat Collins (lights), Darron West (sound) and William Lane (costumes).
