A series of Broadway-style musicals called the Blueprint Specials, created by G.I.s for G.I.s (including Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winner Frank Loesser) to put on in the field to boost morale, plan to be revived in January 2017.

An Indiegogo campaign has been created by Waterwell Productions to raise $15,000 to put up the Blueprint Specials between January 5-13, 2017, in the hangar of the Intrepid Museum, a former WWII-era aircraft carrier. Click here to find out more.

In addition to Loesser in creating the Blueprint Specials were composer Alex North, lyricist Hy Zaret, writer Arnold M. Auerbach and choreographer José Limón.

Waterwell has partnered with the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, the José Limón Dance Foundation, the Center for American Military Opportunities and Intersections International to restore the Blueprints. The performances will feature a cast of nearly four dozen civilian artists and Veterans as well as active military, and each performance will be followed by a talkback with audience, participants and scholars. This will be the Blueprints first staging since 1945 and their first ever for the American public.
