News Xanadu's Butler, Jackson, Hoffman and Testa Perform at Barnes and Noble Jan. 10 The company of Xanadu — who venture to "a place where nobody dared to go" — appear at the Lincoln Triangle Barnes and Noble Jan. 10.

As part of the "Live at Lincoln" series, the 5:30 PM signing and performance will feature Xanadu's Kerry Butler, Cheyenne Jackson, Jackie Hoffman, Mary Testa and Tony Roberts. Also scheduled to appear to celebrate the new cast recording on the PS Classics label is Xanadu book writer Douglas Carter Beane.

At 5:30 PM Butler, Jackson, Hoffman and Testa are scheduled to perform "Suddenly," "Evil Woman" and the title song from the Broadway production. They will be joined by the entire Xanadu company.

PS Classics captured Xanadu's "strange magic" in the studio Oct. 29, and the cast recording officially hit stores Jan. 8.

The Xanadu recording boasts a 24-page full-color booklet with an essay and synopsis penned by the show's librettist, Beane. Xanadu, the new musical based on the 1980 Universal Pictures film of the same name, officially opened at the Helen Hayes Theatre July 10. The production utilizes songs from John Farrar and Jeff Lynne's film sound track. According to press notes, Xanadu "tells the story of one of the nine muses of ancient Greece who comes to earth to inspire the greatest of artistic achievements – a roller disco. Along the way she falls in love, bumps into an old acquaintance and for the first time, feels the desire to create herself."
