With choreography by Denise Clarke, sound design by Richard McDowell and visual design by Brad Struble, Alien Bait sweeps into Vancouver's Arts Club Theatre from Calgary's One Yellow Rabbit company.

Opening Oct. 16, the "eerily entertaining and outrageously informative" show, about alien abductions, runs to Nov. 16 at the Arts Club's New Revue Stage.

Four actors play eight characters -- experts and abductees -- in the show, which promises to take a less skeptical look at "one of the century's most perplexing psychological realities." Authors Blake Brooker and Michael Green did six years of intensive research into the phenomenon, culminating in this 1994 play, which traveled to Toronto, Edinburgh and Glasgow after premiering at their home base, Calgary's Big Secret Theatre.

Brooker and Green are co-founders and co-artistic directors of One Yellow Rabbit. The piece was co-written with Lindsay Burns, Andy Curtis and Denise Clarke. Choreographer Clarke's most recent stint at Rabbit was as the star of Mata Hari - Tigress At The City Gates.

"Whether or not mankind is really being visited by aliens from outer or inner space might almost be beside the point," says Green; "It's not a question of asking me if I believe, but WHAT."
