News York Presents Free Reading of New Musical Heaven Knows; Casting Announced Heaven Knows, a new musical comedy about an actress who encounters God, will be presented Dec. 9 at the York Theatre Company.

Part of the York's Developmental Reading Series, the free readings will be offered at 3 and 7:30 PM. Heaven Knows features book, music and lyrics by Charles Bloom. Andrew Glant Linden directs with musical direction by Andrew Byrne. Heaven Knows, according to production notes, concerns a "neurotic NY actress, who thinks she knows it all [and] gets to spend 24 hours with someone who really does. . . In an assortment of hilarious incarnations, God takes Kate on a 'Holy Roller'-coaster ride through her life, loves and lunacies and helps her to learn, through tears and laughter that, about some things, 'Father' really does know best."

Finian's Rainbow's Julie Reyburn stars as Kate with Bat Boy's Trent Armand Kendall as God. The company also includes Suellen Estey, Marc Goldhaber, Kelli Maguire, Chuck Ragsdale, Molly Stark, Ed Staudenmayer and Josh Young.
