A 7:30 PM reading of Island will be offered Sept. 26. The musical features music and lyrics by Peter Link and a book by Larry Rosler and Joe Bravaco. Island, according to the York's official website, concerns a "married couple who flees Manhattan and flies to beautiful Jamaica hoping that a touch of paradise will solve their marital difficulties. With the help of a Jamaican couple, with difficulties of their own, and an old magic man, everyone learns that problems can only be solved when faced head on — which they eventually do with some surprising and uplifting results."
