Young musicians and actors don't grow on trees, but they can grow in a grove -- the Coconut Grove, that is. Miami, FL's Coconut Grove Playhouse is sponsoring a cocktail party and panel, June 25, bringing together young musicians and thespians (roughly ages 25-40) in order to give them a taste of what it means to be a professional performer. This grouping of the Grove's "Young Ambassadors" and the "Florida Philharmonic Maestros" takes place at the Mayfair Grille on Florida Ave., 6-9 PM, and is open to the public ($10 members; $15 non-members). For more information call (305) 442-2662, x. 159.
Expected for the panel are Judith Delgado, the Playhouse's director of Education, and acting apprentices Annie Henk and Andy Quiroga. Sponsored by the Playhouse, The Young Ambassadors are both a social and professional group, dedicated "to developing a better understanding of, and appreciation for, the arts."
