The recording, set for a physical release Sept. 20, debuted at No. 17 on iTunes' overall charts and is available for digital download on iTunes as well as the label's website. Enthusiastic reviews helped fuel an extension of the limited-run Roundabout Theatre Company revival all the way to January 2012. Now a two-time Tony Award winner, Sutton Foster plays nightclub singer Reno Sweeney in the 1934 confection about hijinks and romance on a transatlantic ocean liner. Foster's first Best Actress Tony was for Thoroughly Modern Millie. In Anything Goes, she sings some of Porter's best-known songs ("Anything Goes," "You're the Top," "Friendship," "I Get a Kick Out of You," "Blow, Gabriel, Blow").
Foster is at home on the Ghostlight/Sh-K-Boom record labels. She is heard on its cast albums of Little Women and The Drowsy Chaperone and on the solo albums "Wish" and "An Evening with Sutton Foster – Live at the Café Carlyle."
The recording of Anything Goes will also be available for purchase at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre (124 W. 43rd Street).
The CD package includes liner notes by Melissa Rose Bernardo and a 36-page booklet of full-color photos and additional material. Kurt Deutsch is executive producer of the album, which was recorded in June.
