Deadline.com reports that FOX 2000 will oversee the film that is produced by Promises, Promises and "Hairspray" producers Zadan and Meron, along with television and stage actor Stamos (Bye Bye Birdie, "Full House").
The film, which will utilize Beach Boys hits for its soundtrack, will be set in Southern California in the 1960's. "Erin Brockovich" screenwriter Susannah Grant is attached to the project.
Zadan, Meron and Stamos previously produced an ABC miniseries about the Beach Boys.
The production is now in previews at Lincoln Center Theater.
The stage and screen star belts out the Alan Jay Lerner-Burton Lane tune.
