Rob Fisher, musical director of "Encores!" and conductor of the Coffee Club Orchestra, announced March 27 that Ziegfeld Follies of 1936 will be recorded this week, documenting for the first time the full Ira Gershwin Vernon Duke score, with original orchestrations.

The concert revival of Ziegfeld Follies of 1936 by "Encores! Great American Musicals in Concert" plays its final performance March 29 at City Center. It opened March 25, starring Mary Testa, Ruthie Henshall, Stephanie Pope, Christine Ebersole, Peter Scolari, Howard McGillin and more. The score includes "I Can't Get Started," "Words Without Music" and "5 A.M."

At a post-matinee discussion with the audience, Fisher also said he has conducted two independent recordings of Gershwin shows: Tell Me More from 1925, with music by George Gershwin and lyrics by Ira Gershwin and B.G. DeSylva, and Tip-Toes, also from 1925, with songs by the Gershwin brothers.

While Tell Me More has yielded no standards, Tip-Toes includes "Looking for a Boy," "That Certain Feeling" and "Sweet and Low Down."
