Heading the cast of the Alan Menken-Alan Brennert-David Spencer science fiction musical is Tony Award winner Karen Ziemba, most recently on Broadway in the short-lived musical Never Gonna Dance. Ziemba will be joined onstage by Darius de Haas, Lisa Datz, John Hickok, Marcy Harriell, Deven May, Brooke Sunny Moriber and Wayne Wilcox. Sheryl Keller directs with musical direction by Fred Lassen. The Mufti presentation marks the New York debut of a newly revised version of the musical, including two new songs.
The Columbia cast album of Weird Romance, now out of print, featured Ellen Greene, Jonathan Hadary, Danny Burstein, William Youmans, Jessica Molaskey, Valarie Pettiford, Sal Viviano, Marguerite MacIntyre and Eric Riley. Doug Besterman orchestrated.
