News Ziemba Steps Back; Lead Sought for Paper Mill Victor/Victoria The Paper Mill Playhouse reports that Karen Ziemba will not be playing the lead in the upcoming production of Victor/Victoria, which is scheduled to run Nov. 1-Dec. 10 at New Jersey's State Theatre. Last fall, Paper Mill sought to secure Ziemba for the show, and last year she turned down an offer for the part from the North Shore Music Theatre. A lead is still being sought for the fall run.

The Paper Mill Playhouse reports that Karen Ziemba will not be playing the lead in the upcoming production of Victor/Victoria, which is scheduled to run Nov. 1-Dec. 10 at New Jersey's State Theatre. Last fall, Paper Mill sought to secure Ziemba for the show, and last year she turned down an offer for the part from the North Shore Music Theatre. A lead is still being sought for the fall run.

A Tony winning triple threat, Ziemba is currently in Contact, playing the part which earned her a Tony for Best Featured Actress in a Musical.

Last year, Ziemba was offered the Victor/Victoria role at Paper Mill but declined, later appearing in the highly acclaimed Contact at the Lincoln Center Theatre. Ziemba is still considering whether to accept an offer to re-up with the 1999-2000 Tony Award winning Best Musical.

Paper Mill's new associate director, Mark S. Hoebee will helm Victor/Victoria, featuring Lee Roy Reams as Toddy.
