Job Title: Assistant General Manager
Reports To: General Manager
New York City Center is seeking an Assistant General Manager who possesses a solid track record of supporting theatrical administrative operations. This role is responsible for supporting the General Manager in the contracting of all artists and creative teams involved with City Center mainstage and studio performances and supporting all administrative aspects of mounting mainstage productions. The Assistant General Manager is expected to demonstrate a passion for this work while upholding City Center’s mission, and our commitment to being an anti-racist organization.
Support the advancement and execution of all musical theater and dance programming.
Draft and manage the contractual and employment paperwork for all company and creative teams.
Track status of contracted artists via master lists for each production.
Develop schedule and design deadlines for each production in partnership with the General Manager, Programming & Production departments.
Support the casting process working with Producer of Musical Theater, Casting Agents, Artistic Directors, Directors, and other necessary creative staff to schedule and facilitate all auditions.
Ensure that all deadlines, schedules, and budgets are being adhered to for each production.
Process all necessary paperwork, payroll, payments, contracts, claims, etc.
Serve as an additional point of contact and proactively provide information to agents and artists associated with productions.
Maintain accurate historical records of contracts, agreements, and other important documents. In partnership with Marketing & Communication, ensure the accurate artistic billing on marketing materials. Supervise and see to the success of any PR events, interviews, press days, etc. as assigned.
Support the General Manager in the coordination and communication of programming needs with internal administrative and production departments.
Support the collection of bios, headshots, special thanks, opening night gifts and press release details for productions
Maintain correspondence and agreements with licensing bodies and rental companies for rights agreements to properties.
Monitor filing of contracts, licensing agreements, and other documents with Finance department, unions, and in departmental files.
Coordinate completion of all contractual and employment paperwork for cast along with Artist Services & Company Manager.
This Role Requires:
3+ years of previous experience in a general or company management office
Ability to negotiate contracts with high profile artists and their agents
Experience working with union members and business representatives, and managing the grievance and arbitration process
Scheduling flexibility to work nights and weekends during rehearsals and performances

Possess a skill of handling interactions with various personality types
Computer skills and ability to perform basic functions of Microsoft Office
Ability to approach work with a spirit of congeniality, collaboration, and cooperation
