Gingold Theatrical Group seeks an Assistant to the Director to partner with the director, David Staller, for their production of George Bernard Shaw's MRS. WARREN'S PROFESSION.
This individual will provide artistic, clerical, and administration support to the Director and help maintain the smooth operation of the production. The primary responsibility of the position will include note-taking, email, running lines with actors, word processing, research, assisting in ordering props and supplies, and running errands. Assistant to the Director will attend rehearsals, designer run-throughs, production meetings, and the first week of preview performances.
Ideal Candidate has experience in directing and language-driven work, and the ability and interest in dramaturgical work. Applicant should have strong writing skills and observational skills, the ability to take notes quickly, and follow directions. Being patient, responsible, and punctual are essential. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites, MAC OS, Theater Terminology, Dropbox, and Google Drive is strongly recommended.
Location: Rehearsals will take place at 520 8th Avenue and performances at Theatre Row, 410 West 42nd Street.
Duration: 30 hours per week, 6 weeks, September 13 – October 24th
Pay: $450 a week
