Job Description

The Gatsby Mansion is home to NYC’s newest immersive theatrical event, The Great Gatsby, transferring to New York this spring after a smash hit 7 year run in London! The Gatsby Mansion is located within the Park Central Hotel, a Highgate property, located at 870 7th Avenue in the heart of midtown and New York’s theatre district.

The Gatsby Mansion is seeking a Box Office Treasurer. This position manages the overall functions of the Box Office and sells tickets for all performances within the Gatsby Mansion. This position would start work ASAP during the week ending June 4th, 2023.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Sells tickets for all Gatsby Mansion performances in-person at the box office window; process tickets for Instant Charge, web, and mail orders; reconcile all sales, exchanges, and returns at the end of each sales session.
  • Runs will-call/check-in and provides excellent customer service as the first checkpoint to the immersive experience.
  • Manages the Ticketure box office system, becoming fluent in its back-office operations and is able to train other staff members in its use.
  • Prepares daily audience attendance reports, including documentation on all ticket sales, receipts and cash deposits.
  • Take direction from venue management and perform tasks as assigned.
  • Stays informed of current information pertaining to all Gatsby Mansion events.
  • Works collegially with all staff – from general management, to house management, to IT, and all technical staff.
  • Monitors all customer requests and complaints and train Assistant Box Office Treasurer(s) to ensure optimal level of customer services to provide resolution and timely and accurate processing of all ticket sales, refunds and other requests.
  • Coordinates with marketing and management on all discount codes and ticket officers, and participate in assessment meetings to measure metrics and offer guidance on where changes might be productive.
  • Programs discounts and marketing codes.
  • Manages inventory within the Ticketure box office system.
  • Cash handling as necessary for cash sales at the box office.
  • Maintains an inventory of all box office supplies and informs general management of any needs with adequate advance notice.
  • Must have regular weekend availability.
  • Proven strong customer service orientation as well as a professional demeanor when dealing with the public and with colleagues.
  • Written and verbal communication skills and strong basic math skills; proven accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Advanced computer proficiency, particularly with the Microsoft office suite.
  • Interest in and knowledge of the performing arts.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, with at least 3+ years in a box office/sales role.
  • Ticket sales experience and knowledge of ticketing systems.
  • Previous experience with Ticketure is a plus, but not required.
  • Must be a team player.

This is a full-time salaried position. Salary starting at $70,000 annually. Entitled to health benefits (with a 90-day waiting period), including paid time off.
