Centenary Stage Company the not-for-profit professional theatre company in residency on the campus of Centenary University in Hackettstown, NJ is seeking applicants for the 2021-22 season Artistic Internship Program.
Qualified candidates must have successfully completed a bachelors degree from a four year institution. Theatre Arts background prefferred but not required. NO housing or transportation provided or reimbursed. Candidate must be local hire or ability to be local hire, have a car, and the ability to commute to and from the theater. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Suit a plus but not necessary. Familiarity with social media platforms; Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter a plus. Accepted candidates are expected a weekly hourly committment of 30 -35 hours per week (pending event schedule) with weekend and holiday availability required. The term of the internship is (1) calendar year from start date. Start date to be determined upon acceptance into program. Looking to fill internship position(s) immediately.
Ideal candidates should exhibit an ability to multi-task within a fast-paced environment, excellent time management skills, possess good communication skills (written & verbal), have a friendly customer service demeanor, be able to learn quickly, a willingness to take initiative, and exude an energetic enthusiasm for the performing arts.
A small monthly stipend of $750.00/month is provided to accepted candidates. No benefits are included.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The CSC Artistic Internship Program provides each accepted candidate the opportunity to explore and immerse themselves in all aspects of theatre and performing arts production. The program is geared toward candidates seeking to bridge the gap between their academic career and the professional industry while providing a platform for young theatre artists to build their early careers. The primary aim of the program is to equip interns with a clear understanding of the business of theatre by providing real-world experience in a fast-paced professional environment utilizing a wide array of skills arming interns with the necessary tools to serve them as they enter the professional world. The primary responsibility of intern candidates is administrative in nature, however, pending an individual candidate's area of interest; performance, technical and other opportunities are available to accepted candidates. Performance minded candidates can potentially earn points towards Actor's Equity Association membership through the AEA Equity Membership Candidacy (EMC) Program if cast in a main-stage production operating under AEA contract. Casting in CSC main-stage productions is not guaranteed and is based on the sole discretion of the casting director. Technical minded candidates may have opportunity to work within technical theatre fields along side industry professionals on a case by case basis. All candidates will have the opportunity to work and network with visiting industry professionals from all over the country in a multitude of facets.
