DESCRIPTION

First Hand
Ogunquit Playhouse, Ogunquit, Maine seeks an experienced First Hand for our
2022 Season and Arts Academy productions. Approximate dates of employment vary per position between April 4 and November 6, 2022.

Ideal Candidate: Must be detail-oriented and remain focused in a fast paced working environment. Excellent cutting and stitching skills are a must.

Job Duties/Expectations include (but are not limited to):

-Work directly with the Assistant Costume Shop Supervisor as directed by the Costume Director

-Assist in the creation and cut fabric based on patterns

-Attend fittings to assist and take notes

-Prepare alterations from fittings

-Assist in shop builds

-Assist load-in/strike as necessary

-Contribute to maintaining a cognitive, communicative, and cohesive shop/team

-Assist Costume Director and Assistant Shop Supervisor with Final Archival Bibles and documentation

-Assist with Arts Academy

-Job requires ability to sit/stand for long periods of time, and bend, stoop, or kneel while assisting actors, staff, and designer in execution of duties as assigned

-Job requires ability to lift, carry, move costumes and necessary equipment up and down stairs in varied lighting conditions

-Unconventional hours may be required

$15-17/hr plus O/T after 40 hours and housing included.

Stitcher

Ogunquit Playhouse, Ogunquit, Maine seeks an experienced Stitcher for our 2022 Season and Arts Academy productions. Approximate dates of employment between April 11 and September 25, 2022.

Ideal Candidate: Must be detail-oriented and remain focused in a fast paced working environment. Excellent cutting and stitching skills are a must.

Job Duties/Expectations include (but are not limited to):

-Sew, either by machine or hand, costumes assigned by the Assistant Costume Shop Supervisor or First Hand

-Assist load-in/strike as necessary

-Contribute to maintaining a cognitive, communicative, and cohesive shop/team

-Effective time management based on projects and work load

-Assist with Arts Academy

-Job requires ability to sit/stand for long periods of time, and bend, stoop, or kneel while assisting actors, staff, and designer in execution of duties as assigned

-Job requires ability to lift, carry, move costumes and necessary equipment up and down stairs in varied lighting conditions

-Unconventional hours may be required

$15-17/hr plus O/T after 40 hours and housing included.


Wardrobe Assistants

Ogunquit Playhouse, Ogunquit, Maine seeks experienced Wardrobe Assistants for our 2022 Season and Arts Academy productions. Approximate dates of employment between May 2 and November 6, 2022.

Ideal Candidate: Must be detail-oriented and remain focused in a fast paced working environment. Wardrobe Crew experience required; sewing/stitching skills are encouraged.

Job Duties/Expectations include (but are not limited to):

-Minor costume repairs

-Ensure proper cleaning, organization and delivery of costume pieces

-Assist with backstage quick changes

-Possess flexibility and positive backstage demeanor working with actors and other crew

-Run each performance (8 shows/week)

-Assist in rehearsals and load-in/strike as necessary

-Assist with Arts Academy

-Job requires ability to sit/stand for long periods of time, and bend, stoop, or kneel while assisting actors, staff, and designer in execution of duties as assigned

-Job requires ability to lift, carry, move costumes and necessary equipment up and down stairs in varied lighting conditions

-Unconventional hours may be required

Wig Assistants

Ogunquit Playhouse, Ogunquit, Maine seeks experienced Wig & Hair/Make-Up Assistants for our 2022 Season and Arts Academy productions. Approximate dates of employment between April 11 and November 6, 2022.

Ideal Candidate: Must be detail-oriented and remain focused in a fast paced working environment. Prior wigs experience is required.

Job Duties/Expectations include (but are not limited to):

-Work directly with the Wig/Hair & Make-Up Supervisor

-Dress performers in wigs/hairpieces during dress rehearsals and performances

-Perform quick changes which involve hair modification (including wigs, re-styles, and touch-ups)

-Clean, style, and maintain wigs

-Apply and maintain application of any specialty make-up

-Possess flexibility and positive backstage demeanor working with actors and other crew

-Run each performance (8-9 shows/week)

-Assist in rehearsals and load-in/strike as necessary

-Assist with Arts Academy, and potential running and pre-show assistance required on per show basis

-Roller setting and Styling from pictures required

-Ventilating skills and a Cosmetology license are a plus

Potential Design Opportunities: Design for one of Ogunquit Playhouse's Arts Academy productions.

$15-17/hr plus O/T and housing included.
