Roundabout Theatre Company, the nation’s largest not-for-profit theatre, seeks a personable and organized individual to join the company’s Development Department as the Foundation & Government Giving Assistant. The position reports to the Foundation & Government Giving Manager, taking responsibility for tasks supporting the cultivation and administration of grants and government contracts. A successful candidate will have a passion for persuasive writing and relationship

This is some of what the Foundation & Government Giving Assistant will do:

+ Manage the grant administration process for foundation and government support, including researching and tracking the cultivation of prospective funders
+ Track program data, file program assets, and otherwise coordinate supplemental materials to ensure grantor guidelines are met
+ Maintain constituent data and project deadlines for foundation and government funders within the organization’s database (Tessitura)
+ Support the foundation and government giving team to develop cases for support for general operating, artistic development, commissioning, education, capital, and other special project grants
+ Help draft and edit correspondence, proposals, and reports
+ Assist the Director of Foundation & Government Giving, Director of Development, and Executive Director with preparation for donor meetings and site visits
+ Take part in site visits and other Development events as necessary

This is some of what the Foundation & Government Giving Assistant should bring:

Experience in development, particularly with institutional fundraising, preferred. Must have advanced written and verbal communication (language skills required: English). Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook required. Knowledge of Tessitura or related CRM database a plus.

Besides the requisite technical skills, the right candidate will show excellent storytelling, editing, and organization skills, as well as a keen attention to detail. Must be an optimistic problem-solver, with the ability to think strategically and creatively. Must also be comfortable interacting directly with donors, both on the phone and in-person.

Roundabout operates on a hybrid working schedule, requiring this person to work in the office minimum three days a week. Some evening and weekend work is required.

This is a full-time position with all standard Roundabout benefits. The salary is $42,000 annually plus any overtime for hours worked over 40 in a workweek.
