Northern Stage seeks a passionate, female identifying, emerging arts leader to act as the programs associate for the theater’s partnership with the Helen Gurley Brown Foundation. This position will act as a crucial link between the theater and all of the programs that they lead as funded by the Helen Gurley Brown Foundation. Programs include: the HGB BOLD Theater Women’s Leadership Circle (www.boldtheater.org), HGB BOLD Ventures, as well as two programs in Northern Stage’s Education department: BridgeUP Shakespeare in the Schools, and Boot Camp. Northern Stage is a LORT-D 240 seat regional theater, producing mainstage shows, educational programs, new work development, and 4-6 other events year-round with a mission to “change lives one story at a time.”
The Programs Assistant will work closely with Northern Stage Producing Artistic Director Carol Dunne as well as Managing Director Irene Green. Responsibilities include: budget tracking for HGB Programs, communication among the 25 women+ leaders in the BOLD Circle, overseeing the submission of final reports and funding renewals, producing bi-annual gatherings and monthly associate meetings for the BOLD Theater Women’s Leadership Circle, and running website and social media for HGB initiatives. This position will also provide some administrative support for Producing Artistic Director Carol Dunne and Managing Director Irene Green.
The Programs Associate will become a member of the BOLD Theater Women’s Leadership Circle during their tenure at Northern Stage. Circle members are Eileen Morris/The Ensemble Theatre, Susan Booth/The Alliance Theatre, Lisa McNulty/WP Theater, Sarah Rasmussen/McCarter Theater Center, Christina Baldwin/The Jungle Theater, Nataki Garrett/Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Maria Goyanes/Woolly Mammoth Theater and Northern Stage. The Circle meets monthly and all Circle members will be mentored, supported and offered individual training by prominent women+ artistic directors and theater professionals.
● College degree or equivalent experience
● 1 year administrative experience preferred
● Strong computer and writing skills
● Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
● Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others
● A strong desire to work in a not-for-profit, mission driven organization
