PIPELINE Submissions for Nya- The Studio Theatre Tierra Del Sol


The Studio Theatre Tierra Del Sol will hold be accepting video audition submissions through Wednesday, September 30th, 5pm EDT.  


Non-Union Pay: $275 per week with housing available.


We typically cast local understudies who are required to attend rehearsal 2 times a week.  Payment for understudies is $75/week.

·       NOTE: submit videos as unlisted YouTube or Vimeo links if possible


At this time we are ONLY seeking submissions for NYA in PIPELINE.


A note on casting: At The Studio Theatre we practice Non-Traditional Casting.  Non-Traditional Casting is a method designed to increase artistic options by expanding casting opportunities for women, actors of color, seniors, and actors with disabilities in roles where race, gender, age or the presence or absence of a disability are not germane. To that end we encourage all actors to audition.



A note about COVID-19 protocol: We will be following all CDC guidelines as are currently available. This is a developing situation and policies may change. 

Some precautions are:

·       Housing will be single room occupancy. 

·       Blocking will utilize social distancing whenever possible.  

·       Cast members will masked throughout rehearsal but not masked for performances.

·       Staff will be masked at all times.

·       Individual dressing rooms will be assigned.

·       All performances will be in our touring venue The Sharon L. Morse Performing Arts Center, which is a 1000 seat theatre only being sold to 20% capacity, max.

·       Cast members will be significantly distanced from the audience and shall not come in contact with audience at any time (separate building entrances/exits).

·       All cast and staff will be screened before being admitted to rehearsals/performances.

·       There will be a Covid test administered on day one of rehearsal.

·       We are currently working on obtaining regular COVID-19 testing for cast and crew.

·       Nya (30s, female-identifying, Black): Single mother. Public H.S. Teacher. Trying to raise her teenage son on her own with much difficulty. A good teacher inspiring her students in a stressed environment. A struggling parent doing her damndest. Strong but burning out. Smoker. Sometimes drinker. Holding together by a thread.
