Life is a Dream is a new work inspired by the original classic by Pedro Calderón de la Barca, created by Brenna Geffers and Felipe Vergara.
This new version will be an ensemble-driven production with movement and music being as central as the text.
EgoPo is looking for performers of all types for all roles. Artists of any age, gender, race, and type will be considered for any role they would like to submit for.
To audition, please submit your resume and a self-tape uploaded onto youtube to email@example.com with the subject line DREAM SUBMISSION. Select a monologue that matches the character you would like to submit for or the one that feels most potent to you. Monologues can be found at https://tinyurl.com/ccrtv4xu.
You may also show 30 seconds of movement/choreography or 30 seconds of music in a folk style.
Please do introduce yourself and what roles you would be interested in being considered for. Please do not worry about backdrops or other filming formalities.
Submissions will be open until October 22 with callbacks the following week. Callbacks will be conducted in small groups in person. Callbacks can also be scheduled via Zoom privately.
Rehearsals begin February 22nd with the schedule being created to accommodate work schedules as much as possible. Expect a mix of late afternoon and evening rehearsals.
Performances begin March 16th through March 27th, with 5 shows per week at Theatre Exile, 1340 S. 13th St.
Non-union performers will be compensated within a weekly range of $200 to $250 per week. Equity actors will be hired on a Special Appearance Tier II contract.
