Seeking non-union performers for a remotely filmed, virtual production of Something Rotten!
Russo Richardson Productions is a virtual theatre organization producing a fully remotely rehearsed, pre-recorded and streamed production of Something Rotten to be streamed July 30th and 31st, 2021. Auditions are open to performers of all ages and experience levels, based anywhere in the world.
We are seeking performers for all roles. Please note that we are considering all performers for all roles for which they are interested, regardless of identity:
A charismatic performer who sings the opening number and introduces us to the world of the show.
NICK BOTTOM (Baritone)
A Renaissance writer struggling to be noticed. He is consistently caught in the shadow of his arch-rival Shakespeare and is desperately trying to prove his superiority.
NIGEL BOTTOM (Bari-tenor)
Nick's younger brother. Sweet, naive and awkward, his first love is poetry, despite assisting his brother in writing plays.
WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE (Tenor)
A Renassiance rockstar. Entirely full of himself, and beloved by all - except for Nick.
A soothsayer who can predict the future of theatre - and it's a musical!
Nick's wife, determined to help him achieve his dreams. She is on his side despite his poor decision making and lack of success, but has no interest in fading into the background.
A young puritan who falls in love with Nigel over their shared love of poetry.
Strong comedic triple threats with tap dancing skills.
Compensation for the project is on a profit share model.
Interested performers should submit a self tape including a 16 bar cut in the style of the show, as well as any dance material they may deem relevant if applicable to the Google Form listed below. Due to volume of submissions, only successful applicants will be contacted.
