Playwrights Horizons – Studio Associate
Playwrights Downtown includes Playwrights Horizons Theater School that operates in conjunction with NYU Tisch School of the Arts, and a space rental business. The Theater School trains nearly 200 undergraduate students each year in a four-year interdisciplinary program, and when not in use by the Theater School, the Rehearsal Studios rents rehearsal
rooms and theater space to a broad cross-section of the not-for-profit arts community.
About the positon
Serving as the staff representative to students and renters in the evenings and on weekends the Studio Associate will be a highly organized and responsible individual who is quick problem solver and enjoys providing structure in a creative environment.
Responsibilities
Serve as point of contact for students and renters in the space
Oversee sign in process in accordance with Playwrights Downtown’s Health and Safety Plan
Monitor studios to ensure occupants are aware of and follow safety protocols including mask wearing and social distancing
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of spaces with particular emphasis on high touch surfaces
Consistently serve as a friendly, respectful, and proactive representative of Playwrights Horizons Theater School and Playwrights Rehearsal Studios
Perform additional administrative duties as needed
This part-time position will begin as soon as possible. Shifts are 4:30pm to 10:30pm Monday through Friday. Weekend shifts will be added in late March. Applicants must be able to work at least 24 hours a week. COVID-19 Compliance Officer Training will be provided.
Requirements
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite & Google Docs
Familiarity with Ungerboeck a plus
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Composure and professionalism in a fast-paced work environment
Compensation
$20 per hour. Benefits include paid sick leave and paid family leave.
