Take the Initiative and start working on that project you have been wanting to create. Shape your unique voice and leave with the beginnings of your dream project!

What is The Initiative Lab?

A five-week Multi-Disciplinary Artist Residency that meets for 3 hours every Monday for the duration of the Lab. The Lab ends in a culminating invited sharing on the fifth Monday for an invited intimate audience of friends. Each week you will bring in material you have been working on, present to the group, and receive feedback. Once within the Lab period,  an invited guest will join the group to share tools and also give feedback. The guest will be a Professional working in the Arts World who has years of experience working in their respective field. 

Artists from various disciplines encouraged to apply.

All sessions are facilitated by Marie Cisco. Marie Cisco is a Producer who has worked for The Public Theater, Lee Daniels Entertainment, The Apollo Theater, The National Black Theatre and others.

What does it Offer?

  • Tools and techniques to develop your work through valuable feedback from your peers and Professionals working in various art industries.
  • You will develop skills and methods of creating work that you can use on any project after the Lab.
  • You will be asked questions that force you to think about the work you want to create and why it is important to you.
  • A culminating presentation for an audience friends
  • The opportunity to the take the initiative and work on the project you've been dreaming of starting

Who Can Apply?

1.   Any artist who creates work within the following disciplines can apply
  • Film
  • Theatre
  • Performance Art
 *Must be at least 18 years old  

The fee for all participants accepted into the lab is $375. A $100 deposit is to be paid on acceptance into the lab to reserve spot. Payment plans avail.
