The Wyldewood Players, Interactive Improv Ensemble
Casting improv ensemble members for the Wyldewood Players, an interactive improv comedy troupe for the Sterling Renaissance Festival in Sterling, New York, a 35-Acre themed festival site recreating Shakespeare's England. Members will perform a cross-section of characters from Shakespeare's England, from Queen Elizabeth I to wenches and beggars, performing stage plays, staged interactive scenarios, lane encounters, and immersive improv performances on period environments.
The nine-week commitment includes three weeks of intensive rehearsals and workshops in improvisation and interactive theater, as well as seven performance weekends; performances will be held Saturdays and Sundays only (10 a.m.-7 p.m.) with additional rehearsals midweek in Sterling, NY. Note: The Sterling Renaissance Festival is located 40 miles north of Syracuse, NY near Lake Ontario. (We are not the Renaissance Festival near NYC in Tuxedo, NY.)
Company members receive $3500 for the nine-week season. (Pay is $175/wk. for two pre-opening weeks and $450/wk. for the seven performance weeks.) Housing is provided. Company members receive an IITP certification (Immersive & Interactive Theatre Performance) through Interactive Artists.

Prepare a one-minute comic monologue. It may be Shakespearian or contemporary. Show your comic flare. Holding room is room 16Q on the 16th floor. Callbacks will be held the same day. If called back, you will stay for a small group improv. Dress to move. No heels. Bring a headshot and resume. Best to arrive at start of call for a group talk on the work and position.
