The Public Theater was founded in 1954 on the principles that theater is an essential cultural force and that art and culture belong to everyone.
The Public is seeking run-of-show wardrobe crew for its upcoming 2021-2022 season. The ideal candidate will provide costume support to The Public's actors and oversee the costume process, including maintaining the costume's integrity and developing costumes lists.
· Assist actors with costumes changes
· Load in and out of the wardrobe & dressing rooms
· Develop and update all costume paperwork
· Set-up the backstage change areas
· Coordinate the care and maintenance of all costume pieces
· Other duties as assigned
· Experience as a wardrobe personnel preferred but open to candidates new to the field
· Strong communication and time management skills
· Ability to manage working relationships with various personalities
· Self-motivated, team-oriented, and highly collaborative work style
As a condition of employment, the Public will require all employees who report to work on site (either at the Public Theater or any other workspace or performing location) to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
