News   Rent Will Return to New York City Area
Jonathan Larson's Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning musical Rent will return to New York next month when it hits Long Island City's Secret Theatre beginning Sept. 23.

5th Floor Theatre Company, which previously produced NYC productions of Debbie Does Dallas, Assassins, Urinetown and more, will present the musical. The musical will celebrate its 20th anniversary next year (Rent officially opened Jan. 25, 1996, at New York Theatre Workshop before transferring to Broadway in April 1996).

Directed by Nick Brennan with musical direction by Andy Peterson and choreography by John de los Santos, the cast features Bernard Holcomb as Collins, Mia Johnson as Joanne, Lindsay Lavin as Maureen, Nina Negron as Mimi,
 André Revels as Benny, Dan Rosenbaum as Roger,
 Daniel Clayton Smith as Mark and 
Anthony Wright as Angel.

Rounding out the ensemble are Reneé Adrienne Vito,
 Micah Woods, Caitlin Kelly, Lynda DeFuria, Paola Hernández, Christopher Hlinka, Syville Padayao and
 Darius-Anthony Robinson.

Performances will be held Sept. 23-26 at 8 PM, with matinee performances Sept. 26 at 4 PM and Sept. 27 at 3 PM.

Other members of the creative team include Katie Kennedy (stage manager), Jillian A. Goldstein (assistant director), Suzanne Milton (assistant stage manager), Carl Tallent (set design), Spencer Sujjaporamest (costume and graphic design) Jeff Rohr (sound design) and 
Nikki Grillos (casting director).
