The film, directed by Will Gluck, is scheduled to hit theatres Dec. 19. According to People magazine, who debuted the new film clip, Gluck enlisted Sia and Kurstin to give the classic musical a modern-day feel.
"Sia is awesome," he told People. "I was super lucky that she was interested and she loved Annie as a kid."
The duo wrote three new songs for the movie, which also stars David Zayas ("Dexter," "Oz," Anna in the Tropics) as Lou, the local bodega owner; Golden Globe nominee Cameron Diaz ("There's Something About Mary") as Miss Hannigan; Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje ("Thor: The Dark World," "Pompeii") as Nash, the bodyguard and driver for Benjamin Stacks; Academy Award winner Jamie Foxx as Stacks, a potential mayoral candidate; Tony Award nominee Bobby Cannavale (The Big Knife, The Motherf**ker with the Hat) as a tough political adviser to Stacks; and Golden Globe nominee Rose Byrne ("Damages") as Grace.
"Opportunity" is performed in the film when Annie goes to the Guggenheim Museum and is asked to give a speech.
