News $10 Tickets for Second Annual Public LAB Series On Sale Jan. 30 Tickets for the second annual Public LAB series, featuring the works of Darrell Dennis, Raúl Castillo, Alex Timbers, Michael Friedman and Suzan-Lori Parks, go on sale Jan. 30.

Beginning Feb. 20 and running through June, the Public and LAByrinth Theater Company collaborate to present bare bones presentations of new works for only $10. Casting for the Public LAB will be revealed shortly.

"Public LAB is what The Public Theater exists to do: bringing electrifying new work, without price barriers, to New York's most diverse audience," said Public Theater artistic director Oskar Eustis in a statement. "These four shows together are a lightning-lit look at the past and future of our sprawling continent."

Darrell Dennis' one-man play Tales of An Urban Indian will be presented Feb. 20-March 25. Herbie Barnes directs the "semi-autobiographical tale of a young Indian man, Simon Douglas. From living life on the 'Rez' to navigating the mean streets of Vancouver's east side, Dennis weaves a funny and stirring story of identity, discovery, choice and self-respect." Tales of an Urban Indian was previously staged as part of the inaugural Native Theater Festival at the Public in 2007.

Following will be the world premiere of Raúl Castillo's Knives and Other Sharp Objects, running March 27-April 19 under the direction of Felix Solis. "Cultures collide in Texas when two Latina sisters are shipped off to live with their more well-heeled family."

The concert premiere of Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson will run May 5-24. Featuring a book by Alex Timbers and a score by Michael Friedman, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson is "a fast-paced entertainment that takes a sharp, irreverent look at America's seventh president, Andrew Jackson. This satirical epic reveals questions about the country we live in and the leaders we choose." The rock musical made its world premiere in January 2008 at the Center Theatre Group. The final offering will be a world-premiere play from Suzan-Lori Parks, who was named the Public Theater's inaugural Master Writer Chair this past year. Parks, who has penned Topdog/Underdog and 365 Days/365 Plays, will present her latest work June 5-28.

The Public Theater is located at 425 Lafayette Street in Manhattan.
