News 11 Off-Broadway Companies Will Share $100,000 in Grants
The Tony Randall Theatrical Fun has announced the award winners of the 2015-16 season. The 11 Off-Broadway recipients will share over $100,000 in financial aid to help their growth and development as theatre companies.

Each year TRTF awards support grants to a small number of theatre companies and since 2004 have distributed over 2 million dollars in funds. The theatre companies selected for 2015-16 follow:

ART/NY; a leading service and advocacy organization for New York's non-profit theatre industry, providing subsidized and shared office and rehearsal spaces, loans and more.

Classic Stage Company; producing classical works for contemporary audiences.

Elevator Repair Service; whose re-imagining of Faulkner's The Sound and the Fury is currently playing Off-Broadway at the Public Theater.

Red Bull Theatre; known for reviving long-neglected works from the Jacobean period. Playwrights Horizons; a theatre company dedicated to nurturing new works, emerging writers and younger audiences.

INTAR: International Arts Relations, Inc; one of the longest-running Latino theatres championing the development of works by Latino artists.

Playing on Air; a public radio show and podcast distributing the work of today's playwrights.

Signature Theatre; in honor of outgoing founding artistic director James Houghton's retirement.

The Sundance Institute Theatre Program; an initiative that provides theatre artists exceptional developmental opportunities for new works as well as career support.

Soho Rep; an Off-Broadway company known for taking risks and breaking boundaries with new and unique productions.

The Labyrinth Theater Company; also dedicated to new works as well as a commitment to accessibility through providing affordable ticket initiatives.
