Directed by Lauren Kennedy, the ensemble cast includes Adam Poole (Chip Tolentino), Sterling Hurst (Douglas Panch), Jesse Gephart (Leaf Coneybear), Morgan Parpan (Logainne Schwartzy), Katie Lynch (Marcy Park), Jade Arnold (Mitch Mahoney), Cameron Caudill (Olive Ostrovsky), Heather Hamby Maggs (Rona Lisa Peretti) and Jeff Vizcaino (William Barfee).
The show that has adult actors playing smart, misfit kids in a spelling bee is written by composer-lyricist William Finn and librettist Rachel Sheinkin (who won a Tony Award for the script). The conception is by Rebecca Feldman.
The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, according to press notes, is a "hilarious tale of overachievers’ angst chronicling the experience of six adolescent outsiders vying for the spelling championship of a lifetime."
