The free event is presented by San Francisco's American Conservatory Theater and Macy's Union Square.
San Francisco's American Conservatory Theater and Macy’s Union Square will ring in the holiday season with the 2nd annual A Dickens of a Holiday, a Dickens-inspired event December 16 in Holiday Lane at Macy’s Union Square, 255 Geary St., 7th Floor.

Beginning at 11 AM, attendees will be treated to arts and crafts, strolling carolers, holiday-themed treats, as well as performances by cast members from A.C.T.’s production of A Christmas Carol and students from A.C.T.’s Master of Fine Arts Program and Young Conservatory.

Those who purchase VIP event packages, which include tickets to the 1 PM performance of A Christmas Carol, will be escorted from Macy’s to A.C.T.’s Geary Theater by a group of roaming carolers beginning at 12:30 PM.

A Dickens of a Holiday is free and open to the public.

“We are excited to, once again, be partnering with Macy’s Union Square on the 2nd annual A Dickens of a Holiday,” said event committee chair Adriana López Vermut in a statement. “Through this partnership, A.C.T. will raise much-needed funds for its actor training and education and community programs, all while celebrating the holiday season. In addition, funds raised will provide A.C.T. with the opportunity to provide complimentary tickets to A Christmas Carol to Bay Area families who have limited access to live theater.”

“The holiday season is a magical time of year at Macy’s,” adds Rodrick Graham, VP Store Manager of Macy’s Union Square. “Hosting in-store events with American Conservatory Theater as it presents Dickens’s iconic A Christmas Carol helps bring the holidays to life for our customers and colleagues alike.”
